Steen and Strøm

"The seventh day" is an expression reffering to the seven days that it took God to create the world. The display depicts four elements: soil, fire, air, and water. Those are realised through shoes (earth), glasses (fire), perfume (air), and earrings (water) hanging in the main window. On the flour, one can see piles of clothes in the same colours, inviting the viewer to reflect on consumption culture. The piles seem less important than what is hanging above. Shoes, glasses, perfume, and earrings not only allude to the elements but also to four senses: touching, seeing, smelling, and hearing. Everything we missed during the Corona pandemic and gained back again in 2021.
